What happens when three hens get caught in a raging evening thunderstorm that features a torrential downpour, loud crashes of thunder and brilliant flashes of lightning?
First, they duck for cover under their raised coop. Then, a short time later, once darkness has fallen, they bed down for the night in said coop. Finally, their nerves frazzled by meteorological mayhem, they poop up a storm in the coop, creating even more work than usual for yours truly when it comes time to clean things out the following morning. On the plus side, though, egg production does not slacken.
Ah, the joys of poultry parenthood.
